God Give This Child a Good Heart!

We keep hearing conservative voices on the News screaming about the huge debt that our government is leaving for our children and grandchildren. Apparently those voices are not being heard in Washington, because the reckless spending continues. I am appalled and sickened by what I see happening in Washington. Everyday there is something more distressing than the day before, with no one capable of stopping it from spinning out of control.

Even greater than that, I am tremendously concerned about this generation of young people not knowing who Jesus is in a very personal way. I have grandchildren who are not going to church and are not being taught by their parents that Jesus loves them and that their hope is in Him. They certainly don’t hear anything about Jesus in school, but instead they are being taught to accept the belief that all gods and paths lead to heaven.

Please help me pray for all of our children that they will have a heart to know Jesus. Even the ones who are being raised in a Christian home need prayer to keep them from the evil one.

Do you remember what Jesus said about the children?

“One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch them and bless them, but the disciples told them not to bother him.

“But when Jesus saw what was happening, he was very displeased with his disciples. He said to them, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

“I assure you, anyone who doesn't have their kind of faith will never get into the Kingdom of God."

“Then he took the children into his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.”
Mark 10:13-16 Living Bible

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:11-13

“Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart!” Psalm 119:2

P U S H

A man was sleeping one night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light, and God appeared.

The Lord told the man he had work for him to do and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might.

So this is what the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down; his shoulders set squarely against the cold massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all of his might.

Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling like his whole day had been spent in vain. Since the man was showing discouragement, Satan decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into his weary mind:

"You have been pushing against that rock for a long time and it hasn't moved." He gave the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man.

Satan said, "Why kill yourself over this? Just put in your time, giving just the minimum effort; and that will be good enough."

That's what the weary man planned to do, but first decided to make it a matter of prayer and to take his troubled thoughts to the Lord.

"Lord," he said, "I have labored long and hard in your service, putting in all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong? Why am I failing?"

The Lord responded compassionately,
"My child, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push.

"And now you come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms and back are strong and muscled; your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much, and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have.

"True, you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. That you have done.
Now, my child, I will move the rock."

At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is just simple obedience and faith in Him.
By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves the mountains.

When everything seems to go wrong ... just P.U.S.H.!

When the job gets you down ... just P.U.S.H.!

When people don't react the way you think they should... just P.U.S.H.!

When your money is "gone" and the bills are due ...just P.U.S.H.!

When people just don't understand you ...just P.U.S.H.!
Pray Until Something Happens

This story was sent to me by e-mail recently. It came at a time when I was feeling discouraged, wondering how effective my prayers are and thinking, "What am I doing wrong?"

As I pray repeated prayers for the salvation for my unsaved family and see little results, I wonder, "What more am I supposed to do?"

The Holy Spirit never fails to come through with whispers of love and encouragement. He can even use a story that comes by e-mail.

He reminds me that all He has ever asked me to do, is to be obedient to Him. He has asked me to pray for my family. He asked me to start a prayer group with other moms, praying for all of our kids, which I did two years ago. Last July He asked me to start this blog, to encourage other moms that I have never met, in their prayers for their families.

He wants me to P U S H: Pray Until Something Happens!

He will do the rest! He will move the rock (or mountain)! He will save our families!

Watch this video and listen as a young man sings about his Mama's prayers. Ladies, never stop praying. Your prayers may be the only means of bringing your kids back to God!
