Jesus Is Knocking

Words and music by Steve Chapman

"There’s a boy in his mother’s prayers
‘Cause lately she’s been aware
That he’s been drifting too far from the shore
And she’s beginning to believe
The boy is getting out of reach
Weary mother, don’t you worry any more

‘Cause the boy is reachable, I know he’s reachable
And to God he is visible and all things are possible
‘Cause if the Lord can reach His hand of love through time
And touch a cold sinner’s heart like mine
The boy is reachable, oh he’s reachable

And there’s a girl on her daddy’s heart
‘Cause lately they’ve drifted apart
And the company she’s keeping leads her further away
And he’s beginning to believe
The girl is getting out of reach
Weary father hold on, Heaven hears you when you pray

And the girl is reachable, I know she’s reachable
And to God she’s visible and all things are possible
'Cause if the Lord can reach His hand of love through time
And touch a cold sinner’s heart like mine
The girl is reachable, oh she’s reachable"

How many times has the devil made you discouraged, thinking that your son, your daughter, or your grandchild has gone too far away from God that they will never come back?

The devil is a liar!

Remember the story in my last post of the atheist who said, "One day I turned around and God was there...He found me!"

You must continue to pray and believe. God will draw your loved one by His Holy Spirit.

"For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." Acts 2:39

"Behold I stand at the door and knock." Rev. 3:20

Ken Horn had an encouraging article in the Aug.30,09 Evangel, titled
"Jogging To Salvation". Click on link to read the entire article.

He writes:
"I was pastoring in California when, on a Sunday morning, a young man slipped into the back of the sanctuary very late in the service. When I gave the altar call, he was the first to respond.

That day a new soul entered God’s kingdom.

After most of the people had left, I asked him what led him to our church. He told me he had never been a believer, but had a relative who had witnessed to him throughout the years. She reminded him occasionally that she prayed for him daily. This didn’t make much of an impression until the day he woke up under conviction, suddenly aware of his need for a relationship with God. All he could think of was, I’ve got to find a church.

“I couldn’t wait for you to quit preaching,” he told me, “so I could get to the altar.”

Our precious Saviour does answer prayer, my friend.

Blessings, Carolyn

  1. Every time I read your post it draws me to my knees in prayer. When the storms of life clams down in my son's life, I'm ashamed to admit but my prayers seem to ease up.

God uses YOU to remind me to pray and pray with authority.

    Have a Merry Christmas,

  2. "Reachable"...I like that word...nothing is impossible and no one is unreachable...beautiful reminder, Carolyn!

Thank you for sharing your comments. They are words of encouragement not only for me, but for others who stop by. I would love to pray with you for your unsaved family and share your praise reports as well. Blessings, Carolyn
