God Is Good!

Let the Holy Spirit uplift you today with His presence and encouragement as you listen to this song, “God is Good”, by Don Moen (from my Playlist).

(chorus)
God is good all the time
He put a song of praise in this heart of mine
God is good all the time
Through the darkest night, His light will shine
God is good, God is good all the time
(Repeat chorus)

If you're walking through the valley
And there are shadows all around
Do not fear, He will guide you
He will keep you safe and sound
'Cause He's promised to never leave you
Nor forsake you and His Word is true
(chorus)

We were sinners - so unworthy
Still for us He chose to die
Filled us with His Holy Spirit
Now we can stand and testify
That His love is everlasting
And His mercies - they will never end
(chorus)

Lord I may not understand
All the plans You have for me
My life is in your hands
And through the eyes of faith I can clearly see
(chorus)

You may be walking through the shadows now and the valley of ‘why’, but God is so good and He is walking with you. Your days may be filled with frustration, pain and fear.

You may feel like your prayers aren’t getting above the ceiling. You have been praying for that loved one for so long, and there is no answer.

Why, God are You silent about the matter? You cry out, ‘Why?’ so many times in your prayers.

God has not forsaken you! He has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us. We do not need to be afraid, because He is our helper.
Heb 13:5,6; Deut. 31:6,8

I’m reminded of another song,
“For all of the Days That End in Why”, sang by Poet Voices.

The chorus is,
“God is there through every hello and goodbye,
God is there when I don’t even have the will to try.
God is there, God is there
for all the days that end in why,
for all the days that end in why.”

I love the message.

Someone said that when he first heard the song, he thought they were saying, “God is there all the days that end in Y.”

It made him think, “What days do end in Y?”

Sunday… Monday… Tuesday… Wednesday… Thursday… Friday… Saturday!

Every day of the week ends in “Y”!

Yes, God is with us everyday of the week.

Just remember, when you don’t understand the whys, that Jesus really is there for you every day that ends in ‘why’ and He is good all the time!

Carolyn

I Know He Watches Me!

As I finished washing the shampoo out of my hair, my wet hands were covered with long strands of my hair. I rubbed my hands together to form the hair into a small ball.
Oh, no, my hair was falling out again!

My hair is very fine and is thinner as I age, but this happens every time I have surgery with anesthetic. After several months the 'fallout' has stopped and my hair is returning to normal, but going through it is very traumatic.

I have several friends who have had cancer and chemo treatments and have lost all of their hair! I can’t imagine how awful that must be. Thankfully, after treatment their hair came back.

Many men start losing their hair gradually at a young age due to a heredity gene known as “male patterned baldness”.
I’m sure that it must be traumatic for them as well.

Do you know that even God is concerned about your hair? He knows each one of us so intimately that He even counts the hairs on our heads?

“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”
Matt. 10:30

Let that really sink in for a moment. God absolutely cares about you! You may think sometimes that He doesn’t have time to hear your prayers or to know your pain, but He does.

He cares more about you than the little sparrow.
“…And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.”
Matt. 10:29

“Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Matt. 10:31

Those are the words of Jesus, recorded in the book of Matthew.

Selah sings the beautiful song,
“His Eye Is On The Sparrow”.
It’s beautiful and uplifting!

I pray that you have the faith and confidence to believe God loves you and He always hears your prayer.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
I John 5:14,15

Turning Sorrow Into Joy!

Our Lord Jesus is so loving
and merciful to us.

Do you know that He works all things for the good of those who love Him and are called to His purpose?

He will even answer the prayers of your heart that may be too painful to put into words.

He wants to turn the sorrows of your life into joy!

“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.”
Psalm 126:5

“Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10b

I want to share this video with you of a beautiful story of God’s love for Lee Ezell. The story has a wonderful surprise ending.

God decides when to make life; therefore, we are all made for His purpose.

“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book.”
Psalm 139:16 NLT

A Thankful Heart!

Lord Jesus, by Your Spirit cause my children to seek You, and open their hearts to see you.

Bless them with a face-to-face encounter with You, confessing Jesus as their Savior.

Bless them with a hunger and thirst for your Word and a desire to know You.

In Your name I pray. Amen

This is one of the prayers I pray for my family, especially for the ones who are not following Jesus at this time.

I can say like John said, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

I am excited and I have a thankful heart tonight for the testimony of two of my beautiful teenage granddaughters. I am rejoicing and praising God for answering prayer.

We live states apart, so I'm not a part of their daily lives. I have found Facebook to be a useful tool for 'trying to keep up'.

This a FB comment Steph wrote recently,
“Looking back on the last two years of my life there are a few things that stand out.
One - I have so many amazing new friends, from church and youth group.
Two - I have become closer to the Lord and as a result, am more at peace with my life.
Three - I am actually almost ready to leave the nest.
Four - I am not nearly done with my journey, my walk with God. The most important thing in the next few years for me, will be getting closer to God and reading my Bible because I don't do that enough.”

This is a FB comment Susie wrote recently,
“I know I've been on a sort of Spiritual high lately but I feel like I've been given a purpose. I really feel like chasing after a career in Evangalism. Sorry to anyone who gets weirded out by this. This is me.: )

“I think about the last year or two, and two things stand out. One, how many amazing people I've met, my church friends, and how much stronger I've become in my faith in Jesus Christ.”

‎"Charm is Deceptive, Beauty is Fleeting, but a Woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."
Proverbs 31:30

Let us never forget to praise the good Lord for answering our prayers. He is faithful!

Teach Our Children The Truth!

Do you remember this song, “O Be Careful Little Eyes What You See”?

I remember singing it when I was very young. Listen to these adorable children singing it on the video and as you watch, it may bring back some good memories for you too.

(Pause my Playlist at bottom of page first.)

I no longer have small children at home, but I do have young grandchildren. My heart breaks when I think about the future of this generation who are not being taught the truth of Jesus Christ.

The schools are teaching our kids that there are many gods and Jesus doesn’t even get a mere mention!

Many of our churches are teaching a tolerant message of acceptance: “One can believe in any god one chooses and still get to Heaven”.

It doesn’t matter whether you are a mom or a grandma, we must pray for our kids.

The most important truth we must teach our children is that Jesus is alive and the One and only God who loves them! We must teach our children to pray and to know that Jesus hears them. We need to let our light shine before them, so they will see Jesus in us.

Our children are our most prized possessions and they should be a priority in our lives. I believe, our children are on loan to us from God and entrusted to our safekeeping.

We cherish and treasure them, even if they bring us heartbreaking pain at times.

“Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.”
Psalm 127:3

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6

This should be the prayer of every parent,
“God, I want to be instrumental in helping my kids establish a close walk with You. Please give me the strength and the wisdom to be the godly example that my children need to see. I realize that in order for this to happen I must be like You. Direct me daily to renew my commitment to follow in Your steps. Thank You for being the example I need.”

Carolyn
